  State Development Report of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep Islands

The Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education has been nominated by the Planning Commission to prepare the State Development Report of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and the Lakshadweep Islands. The chapters relating to the Forest Management and Working Plans, Forest Development Agency & Joint Forest Management, Bamboo & Jatropha and Forest Based Industries of the State Development Report of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is being prepared by the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education, Dehra Dun with inputs from the staff of the Forestry Land Use & Climate Change Division of the Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding, Coimbatore.

The staffs of the Forestry Land Use & Climate Change Division were also involved in the preparation of the chapter on the “Role of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) in Lakshadweep Administration” for the State Development Report of the Lakshadweep Islands.

  Preparation of the Final Mine Closure Plan for Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Ltd., Kudremukh

The Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education through the Environment Impact Assessment Division is preparing the Final Mine Closure Plan of the Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Ltd., Kudremukh.  A team of experts from the various Institutes of ICFRE were involved in the preparation of the Final Mine Closure Plan in which the staff of the Silviculture Division was a member. 

   Preparation of the Environment Impact Assessment Report for Singareni Collieries Company Limited, Kothakudam, Andhra Pradesh

The staff of the Silviculture division, IFGTB, Coimbatore was part of the team formed by the Environment Impact Assessment Division of the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education, Dehra Dun to prepare the Environment Impact Assessment Report for the Singareni Collieries Company Limited, Kothadudam, Andhra Pradesh.

   Investigation of pests and diseases problems in forestry and development of package of suitable control measures.

   Identification, mass production and application of suitable host specific biofertilizers in forestry species.

   Identification and Utilization of beneficial microbes for eco-restoration.

   Inventorization of micro flora and entomofauna in different ecosystems like degraded lands, mined overburdens etc.

   Extending technical guidance for development of projects/programmes/plans in respect of biofertilizer techniques, Integrated Pests and Diseases Management (IPDM).

   Providing technical guidance for infrastructure development in the fields of biofertilizers, biopesticides and biocontrol agents production techniques.
