The Gass Forest Museum has
collections of all important timber species found in India and
countries like Australia. Notable among the exhibits is a cross section
of Tectona grandis that was 456 years old when cut and having a
girth of 5.7 mtrs, a massive Santalum album tree weighing 1.75
tonnes and 10.2 mtrs in height, a timber library that displays
information on 30 important species having diverse end uses. Hugh cross
sections of Dalbergia latifolia and stumps of several
important tree species are also displayed.
